The former hospital site is being redeveloped to provide 77 new homes for affordable and market sale. Shortlisted for a Housing Design Award in 2017, the project is approximately £22m in value and is due for completion in 2021.
Byrehill was engaged by Catalyst Housing to manage the project through planning and to oversee the procurement and negotiation of a JCT design and build contract. The viability of the project was being severely tested due to changes in market conditions. However, a value engineering process helped to swing the viability, and the project was successfully approved for delivery in March 2019.
Byrehill worked closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the project met the client’s commercial, design and quality parameters.
